Peer editing #2
Before i start to read through the paper i would like to state what im looking for in general. Im first checking for the correct formating as in MLA, APA, ect. Then i will be looking to see if the genre is recognizable, once I find that i will begin to see if it follows the guidelines from the OWL types of essays link from the marlenharrison home page. While reading the paper I want to give praise to great ideas, advice on ideas that could be really good and maybe should be elaborated on a little more, and question some things that may be unclear to me as a reader and that I think should be elaborated more to be understood. I will also make minor notes on grammer or spelling, since I am by far no expert with this I will not soley focus on this, but only note the mistakes that would be caught by the common reader. After I am finished reading i will check for correct citing, and then write a few brief statements on what i really liked in this paper and what i think could possibly be tweaked a bit to make it even better.
When I begain I first read through his goal statements and used them as a guidline for the content. the next thing i check was the formatting which I was able to immediatly recognize it as correct MLA formating. I then checked that he had sources cited in the back, and his goal statements, both which are included. After the first two paragraphs I was able to recognize as a pros and cons/ compare and contrast essay. I could tell this in the second paragraph where the writer says that touch has somewhat of a bipolar personality. I then continued reading and noted alot of the things i enjoyed about the paper, specifically the quotes he used from Ackerman. Over all i thought it was a well written paper. I belive possible revision work could be done by adding more content to the pros, or good side of touch. I say this because there is alot of good information but the writer tends to have more on the pros making the essay slightly unbalanced. In looking at his post writing i believe he did do a wonderful job meeting his goals. Over all it was a well written paper i enjoyed reading. Keep up the good work.
